May 2022 Newsletter

Dear sed-DNA enthusiasts,

Another month has passed and it is full-on spring (in the northern hemisphere). It has been a relatively quiet month within the society, but connections are still being made, and social activities such are the E-coffee are still on the schedule. Moreover, the monthly seminars for (under)graduate students are still being held every first Thursday of the month. If you are a student not yet on the student mailing list (and slack page) or a PI with new students that joined your group, do not hesitate to contact the student board members.

María Ariza et al., (2022) published "Plant biodiversity assessment through soil eDNA reflects temporal and local diversity" in Methods in Ecology and Evolution.

Tony Brown et al., (2022) published "New integrated molecular approaches for understanding lake settlements in NW Europe" in Antiquity.

Janet Wilmshurst and Jamie Wood (2022) published "Paleoecological records inform conservation management in New Zealand" in Past Global Changes Magazine (PAGES).


New Position

At The Arctic University Museum of Norway (UM) a position as Researcher is available within Northern Terrestrial Ancient DNA. The position has funding for three years, with the possibility of an extended funding period. The position is affiliated to the newly established Norwegian Centre for Arctic Ecosystem Genomics (ArcEcoGen) and will be part of the terrestrial working group. Application deadline 4th June 2022.
