Summary
Dear sedaDNA enthusiasts,
Hello and welcome to the last newsletter of 2025! The year is almost over, so, some quick highlights:
- At least 78 new papers and 49 preprints were produced by our community this year
- The sedaDNA conference in Tromsø, which many of you attended (see our wonderful faces in the photo below)
- As of December 2025 our society has 482 members. That's 40 new members since December 2023
Finally we wish everyone already a great holiday season, and all the best for the New Year both scientifically and personally. We are looking forward to what 2026 will bring,

Xu Han et al., (2025) published "Translocation of sedimentary ancient DNA in archaeological cultural deposits: Mechanism and prospects" in the Journal of Archaeological Science.
Preprints

Bishnu Timislina et al., (2025) submitted the preprint "Enhanced reconstruction of Holocene bryophytes from sedimentary ancient DNA using bryophyte-specific primers" available on BioRxiv.
Nihan Dilşad Dağtaş et al., (2025) submitted the preprint "Evaluating rapid extraction methods for recovering ancient DNA from archaeological sediments" available on BioRxiv.
